Learning objectives
1. NUTRITION AND CANCER: the learning objectives of this course include: - the acquisition of basic notions about cancer epidemiology, carcinogenesis and pharmacology applied to the main oncological diseases; - the identification of those risk factors for oncological disease related to unhealthy eating behaviour and lifestyle; - the acquisition of specific competences to assess the baseline nutritional status of oncological patients; - the acquisition of knowledge about dietetics applied to the oncological setting; - to provide adequate tools to improve communication and relationship within a multidisciplinary approach.
Examination methods: written exam with open qestions aimed at evaluating knowledges and abilities acquired throughout the course.
2. NUTRITION FOR SPORTS: provide students with basic concepts regarding nutrition for sports and exercise, combining scientific evidence with a practical approach.
Know the recommendations for an optimal diet for sedentary people and athletes of various disciplines and know how to apply them in exemplary clinical cases.
Know the recommendations for "sideline" nutrition, that is, before, during and after activities, to promote health and performance in various sports.
Know the concepts of food integration and supplementation, the main products used in sedentaries and athletes.
Examination methods: written exam, 30 multiple choice questions with 5 possible answers and only one correct.
The exam is aimed at ascertaining the student's knowledge of the contents of the course.
