Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
On completion of this course, students: – will know the geographical and demolinguistic status of Spanish and the essential aspects of the spread of this language in the world and in society; – will know the main grammatical and lexicographical works of the Spanish language and their fundamental characteristics; – will know the essential aspects of the phoneme / grapheme relationship, of the vocabulary and of the morphosyntactic structures of Spanish and will be able to apply them in the analysis of texts. Furthermore, B1 language level of competence in Spanish (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is also required.
Program
The course aims to offer an overview of the spread of the Spanish language and related issues and provide the basic tools for the analysis of the main functioning mechanisms of Spanish, according to a contrastive approach (Italian / Spanish).
The teaching methods include lectures on the following main topics:
1. Spanish language in history, in society and in linguistic works
1.1. Geography of the Spanish language and demolinguistics
1.2. Linguistic tools (dictionaries and grammars)
2. Constitutive elements of the Spanish language: from minimal units to morphosyntax
The teaching materials used during the course are part of the exam program. They will be made available on the e-learning platform.

Examination Methods
Assessment will consist of a written exam and it is s aimed at ascertaining the breadth and depth of the knowledge gained on the topics in the program, as well as the property of language, the terminological precision and the ability to connect the acquired knowledge in a systemic way.
The exam will focus on the program carried out during the lessons, on the didactic materials and on the bibliography of the course.
The written test consists of multiple choice questions, short answer and open answer. The exam questions will be written in Spanish, but the students will choose whether to answer in Spanish or Italian.
The program, the bibliography and the examination procedures are the same for all students, including non-attending students.
Non-attending students can take advantage of recommended readings, which will be indicated in the e-learning platform, to fill any gaps regarding the topics covered during the lessons.
Erasmus students are invited to contact the teacher at the beginning of the courses.
LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE REQUIRED:
Level 2 (ALTE), B1 (Council of Europe).
Assessment of linguistic competence will be on the grounds of certificates issued by the CLA (the University Linguistic Centre) or by the official certification institutes.
The final score will be obtained from the average of the written test and that of the linguistic competence. The results will be communicated via ESSE3 platform.

Nei piani didattici di ciascun Corso di studio è previsto l’obbligo di conseguire un certo numero di CFU di tipologia D e di tipologia F.
CFU D (attività a scelta dello studente)
I CFU D possono essere acquisiti mediante:
- insegnamenti non obbligatori nel proprio piano didattico (previa approvazione del Presidente del Collegio didattico per insegnamenti non selezionabili in autonomia)
- attività accreditate dal Collegio didattico
- competenze linguistiche (diverse o ulteriori) rispetto a quelle obbligatorie
- tirocini o stage
- TALC (competenze trasversali).

Nota bene: i corsi TALC sono riconosciuti solo come CFU D.
Il numero di CFU D va calcolato complessivamente sull’intero triennio/biennio e non è legato all'annualità.
CFU F
I CFU F sono solitamente relativi ad abilità informatiche, competenze linguistiche, stage e tirocini e ulteriori attività formative accreditate in questa tipologia dal Collegio Didattico.
Nel corso di laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere sono previste le seguenti tipologie:
- 3 CFU per terza lingua (livello B1)
- 3 CFU per informatica.
Le competenze informatiche possono essere acquisite attraverso:
- il superamento della prova pratica presso le aule informatiche di Ateneo,
- la frequenza dei corsi attivati da scuole e centri accreditati dall’AICA (Associazione Italiana per l’Informatica e il Calcolo Automatico) o riconosciuti dalla Provincia e dalla Regione e superamento della relativa prova finale. Le domande per il riconoscimento delle competenze informatiche acquisite precedentemente vengono esaminate dalla Commissione per il riconoscimento delle Competenze Informatiche.
Lo studente ha comunque la possibilità di effettuare esperienze di stage e tirocini che però vengono riconosciuti all’interno dei crediti a scelta libera (CFU D).

Attendance is not mandatory.

Le attività di stage sono finalizzate a far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza diretta in settori di particolare interesse per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e per l’acquisizione di abilità professionali specifiche.
Le attività di stage sono svolte sotto la diretta responsabilità di un singolo docente presso studi professionali, enti della pubblica amministrazione, aziende accreditate dall’Ateneo veronese.
I crediti maturati in seguito ad attività di stage saranno attribuiti secondo quanto disposto nel dettaglio dal “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” vigente.
