Learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to introduce the basic notions in computer science that are necessary for a knowledgeable use of computer systems. In particular, the course will address several central topics including information coding, computer architectures, operating systems, computer networks, and programming languages in order to provide the students with the ability to solve practical and theoretical problems regarding the use of the computer and its infrastructure.

Examination Methods

Written exam with exercises and questions with multiple responses on the arguments of the program of the course.

Typically the exam consists of 16 questions, for each question a correct response provides 2 points, while incorrect or missing answers provide 0 point. In this way the maximal score is 32/30 which corresponds to 30 e lode.

The exam is the same for students that have attended classes and for those who have not attended.
