Learning objectives
The course aims to provide a methodological frame and practical tools for the teaching of Latin language and culture in high school; it also intends to increase the knowledge of Latin texts, with reference to their historical, literary and cultural contexts, as well as to strengthen the linguistic skills essential for an effective teaching of Latin language and culture. Prerequisites: advanced knowledge of Latin language and literature. Expected learning outcomes: at the end of the course students will - know methods and tools for teaching Latin language and culture; - understand and translate the Latin texts as indicated in the syllabus, with regard to their grammatical structures, literary forms, cultural contexts; - critically approach Latin texts in order to plan didactic activities and strategies.
