Learning objectives
Contemporary Publishing (m) The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the current state of Italian and international publishing with regards to social, cultural and technological recent developments. At the end of the course students will be able to recognize the main dynamics in publishing and to identify and evaluate the different publishing products; moreover, they will have acquired the tools to keep themselves up-to-date in the field over time. MM: History of Contemporary Publishing (M) This module aims to illustrate the context within which the publishing industry has developed from the late nineteenth century to the last decade; through a presentation of the most relevant case studies, the module intends to provide an overview of those events and protagonists who led the field to its current outline. At the end of the course students will be aware of the historical dynamics that have shaped the modern publishing industry. MM: Applied Publishing (M) This module intends to outline traits and peculiarities of the many editorial products currently present on the markets and to explore the editorial processes that create them. At the end of the course students will understand how a modernly organized publishing house works.
