Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to teach the main aspects of the geographical theoretical framework, from a epistemological, conceptual and methodological point of view. The course concerns the key elements of geography that are necessary to create the teaching practices. The course intends to give elements useful to plan and act efficient teaching strategies for geography in the primary and pre-primary school.

A- basics - Earth and World - methods, tasks and tools of geography - the main paradigms characterizing the historical evolution of the geographical science. - geographical concepts: environment, landscape, place, space, territory, region. - Geography and geographies: concepts, topics/problems, geographical areas. - Cartography. - Sources. - National and International Geographical Associations. - Geography and other sciences. - Geography and Didactics of geography B – DIDACTICS - The educational value of geographical knowledge - The curriculum according to the dispositions of law - The didactic design of geographical knowledge - The didactic use of the main tools and sources of/for geography - Field trips for geographical education - Professional updating Didactic approach Interactive lessons, group work, seminars, possible excursion. Language Italian. Written exam. The evaluation is on scale of 30. It will consider: knowledge, ability to communicate clearly, proper use of geographical terms, didactics of geography terms, spelling and syntax.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, the examination may be changed in oral ex online, zoom platform. Further information will be provided at the beginning of the course.
