SECS-P/07 - BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTING STUDIES

Learning outcomes

The course is aimed at deepening the strategic control issue. More in details, lessons focus on the relevance of the execution phase of firm's strategy and on the identification of the set of tools aimed at its realization. At the end of the course, students will get the skills and competencies to deeply understand the processes and the mechanisms necessary to strategic control implementation. From an operative point of view, at the end of the course students will be able to apply methodologies and tools necessary to evaluate the economic performance of the firm and to take decisions related to the execution of strategic control process such as: financial information projections, assessment of goals achievement, identification of potential corrective mechanisms and so forth.

Program

- Strategy and control in context of uncertainty
- Economic performance analysis: key value driver and short term decisions
- From performance analysis to economic and financial targets definition: the budget
- Economic, financial and strategic forecast: methods, outputs and sensitivity analysis
- Decisions in context of risk and uncertainty

The course is based on class-taught lessons. Team works will be organized during the course.

During all the academic year students can meet the professor during specific weekly meeting. Hours and place of the meeting are published on the Professor web page and constantly updated.
The content of the textbook and of the class lessons are coherent with the program and with the aims of the course.
The program and the teaching material is the same for attending and non-attending students.

Examination Methods

Written examination. The examination consists of questions and exercises aimed at evaluating the students's capability of analyzing in a critical, personal and effective way the concepts.
The evaluation is based on a 30-point scale.
The exam procedure could change according to the evolution of Covid 19 pandemic and any consequent safety measures required.
The exam procedure is the same both for attending and non attending students.
