Learning objectives
The course helps to deepen the ethical and deontological responsibility of the profession and also introduces students to the understanding of the legal and deontological principles and criteria that must inspire the work towards users and the community, colleagues in the organization and the professional community. It also provides a foundation of ethical and deontological knowledge that underpins the principles of an autonomous, responsible and coherent professionalism with respect to issues emerging from legislative and technical-scientific developments.
- Analyse and apply the bioethical, deontological, and legal principles of the profession.
- Understand the reasons behind the emergence of bioethics, mechanisms to guide the conduct of professionals when faced with complex bioethical issues (beginning of life, end of life).
- Analyse informed consent and relationship of care in a historical and bioethical perspective.
- Analyse and interpret laboratory data and epidemiological information to express a scientific-social ethical and deontological opinion, in relation to prevention interventions (primary secondary to screening).
- Describe and justify the areas, responsibilities, and methods of regulation of professional practice.
- Analyse the sources of regulation of the employment relationship and the areas of professional responsibility of the health care assistant.
Examination methods: In order to pass the integrated exam, students will have to demonstrate that they can argument on cases and/or situations by applying and using in a coherent and motivated way the ethical-deontological principles and professional responsibility.
