Learning outcomes
This program offer to the students a general picture of Italian and European political and cultural history from 1848 to 1914.
Principal aim is to present, in a comparative perspective, the most important steps of Italian unification from 1861 to 1900.
Program
Building the nation: élite and ruling class in Italian history (1861-1900)
The Italian building state phase is connected with the big transformations provocated by liberal revolutions developed in Europe during the second part of nineteenth century. During this phase were created principal idioms whose characterized European political system, such as liberty, democracy, individual rights.
