The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
In accordance with the literary and cultural specificity of this course, addressed to the Bachelor's degree in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce students, but also to the Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures students, the lessons will introduce to the fundamental topics of francophone literatures, between identity and alterity, tradition and stylistic and thematic innovations, in different geographical and cultural areas, such as Belgium, Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Antilles. The first part, which will also give 6 CFU to the students of Foreign Languages and Literatures, will present the fundamental topics and works, even at a critical and literary level. The second part will focus in particular on the poetics of travel and insularity. The course, as well as the primary and secondary bibliography, will be in French, which is intended to help students to improve their linguistic comprehension and fluency. At the end of the course, students shall therefore acquire overall knowledge of the fundamental topics and contexts, as well as the capacity of applying, in French, critical and textual analysis competences to the texts presented during the course.

“L’apprentissage de l’ailleurs”. La littérature de la Suisse romande
The course aims to present a corpus of major works from the literature of French-speaking Switzerland. Focused mainly on the 20th and 21st centuries, the course must allow students to explore the production of some of the main French-speaking writers in Switzerland and to inquire about their specific situation.

Examination Methods
The evaluation will take place through an oral assessment of the knowledge relating to the course.
The following will be assessed: the quality of oral expression in French, the clarity and consistency of the argument, the completeness of the information and the ability to critically deepen the knowledge acquired.
