Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
This course aims at providing an essential introduction to linguistics as a cognitive science, by making the participants familiar with the distinct perspectives from which linguistics can be built as a science of language: language as a cultural and historical entity, as a communication system and as a computational system characterized by the interaction of different cognitive modules.
Program
Specific attention will be paid to the relationship between syntactic structures and sentential meaning, and to the contribution of a theory of meaning to the anlysis of language use.
