Learning outcomes
Aim of the course is the development of specific ability for the assessment of a nursing-tailored physical examination and collection of clinical history aimed at a precise monitoring signs and symptoms of patients to reach a personalized care planning in order to improve the effectiveness of taking care of patients.
Program
- Methodological approach to clinical evaluation: history, general objective examination and main signs and symptoms, vital signs, principles of inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation.
- cardiac and vascular assessment: auscultation of cardiac tones and pauses, inspection of jugular vessels, evaluation and interpretation of the main pathologies of arteries and veins, in particular lower limbs ostructive arteriopathy and deep venous trombosis;
- respiratory assessment: inspection, palpation, percussion and thoracic auscultation with recognition of the main pathological respiratory noises (dry and humid) ;
- abdominal assessment: inspection, auscultation, superficial and deep palpation and percussion of the abdomen: interpretation of alterations of peristalsis and intestinal function, liver and spleen palpation, peritoneal effusion.
