Learning outcomes

This teaching aims to introduce students to the economic, regulatory and ethical dimensions and the consequent implications for professional practice, aiming at the development of an approach able to highlight the complexity and close relationships existing among these aspects. It proposes in depth examination of administrative and health law, labour law applied to both the private and public sector, forms of financing and the impact of costs.
PUBLIC LAW (DIRITTO AMMINISTRATIVO E SANITARIO) Learning Outcomes: The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of the administrative legal system in regard to the subjects and activities of public administrations, acts, proceedings and institutions of protection with particular reference to the Italian National Healthcare System, in order to enable its members to perform effectively and efficiently within the complexities of the healthcare services.
LABOUR LAW (DIRITTO DEL LAVORO) Learning Outcomes: The labour law course aims to offer a framework of knowledge regarding labour law applied to the public sector, with specific reference to the healthcare system. Additionally, students will acquire the theoretical tools needed to understand and act according to the legal regulation of the healthcare services.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTING STUDIES (ECONOMIA SANITARIA) Learning Outcomes: The course aims to describe the principles and the main characteristics of management applied to the public healthcare system. Additionally, the students will acquire the main rules regarding the management of local health authorities (aziende sanitarie) with particular reference to organizational and financing processes and in depth examination of the related management tools. At the same time students will also develop the ability to use the correct and proper language of the discipline.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSABILITY APPLIED TO THE OBSTETRIC AND NURSING PRACTICE (RESPONSABILITA’ PROFESSIONALE): Learning outcomes: The module aims to analyse the implications of nurses and obstetricians' professional responsibility in relation to their clinical practice and their roles in organizational and management processes. The module will also analyse the indications given by the legislation (Dlgs. 66/2003) with particular emphasis to the impact on the organizational aspect of healthcare. Students deepen their knoweldge regarding safety in the workplace and they will analyze the areas and boundaries of responsibility and decision-making proper to each profession (nurse, midwife, healthcare assistant) and the consequent impact for the clinical practice.
