Learning outcomes

Teaching aims to provide the cultural basis of the obstetric profession. The obstetric profession will be examined as a whole, highlighting the historical excursus of the mid-nuptials of the early 1900s to the nowadays self-employed profession, focusing on the professional profile, code of ethics, legislative decrees and norms that protect the profession and before it the training course leading to the possibility of practicing such profession. The student will be guided to understand the scope of activities and the various workstations of the OSTETRIC, its related professionals and the possible midwufery models.

Program

HISTORY OF OSTETRIC DISCIPLINE
- historical excursus of the training of the obstetrician profession from 1900 to present;
- the mansion and its repeal;
- the midwife, the obstetrician and the obstetrician, from professional responsibilities;
- the orders, the board and the college.
DEONTOLOGICAL CODE AND PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
- In-depth reading and commentary on the code of ethics and professional profile, extending it as much as possible in the practical reality of the profession and making some references to ethics in the profession.
WORK IN COLLABORATION
- work in teams, responsibility of the single and shared;
- different health professionals, descriptions, and possible relationships.
MODEL OF SALUTOGENESI
- health concept (WHO and Italian constitution);
- concept of salutogenesis in the different ages of women, in the pregnancy and childbearing pathway.

Examination Methods

The examination involves an oral interview. The student will be required to expose the lessons learned, the knowledge and the in-depth knowledge of the subject, and will be stimulated to transfer the theoretical knowledge into small practical contexts (welfare and clinical cases).
