Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to identify and under stand the main neurological diseases amenable to physiotherapy treatment, identifying the rehabilitative needs of the subject through the evaluation of clinical data.
Program
Base concepts of neurological rehabilitation: the rehabilitation project, rehabilitation programs, and team.
Introduction to ICF classification.
Stroke: the different types of recovery, neuroplasticity, rehabilitation evaluation and prognosis.
Rehabilitation approaches that take advantage of neuroplasticity.
Severe acquired brain injury: evaluation of consciousness , rehabilitation prognosis, medical complications in the acute and chronic phase, motor control and motor learning in the different stages of recovery, postural control.
Spinal cord injury: assessment and rehabilitation prognosis, medical complications in the acute and chronic phase.
Spasticity: assessment and treatment.
