Learning outcomes

The course introduces the student to the understanding of the principles and criteria that must inspire him in his actions towards the user, the colleagues of the organization and the professional community; it focuses on the development of a base of ethical and deontological knowledge that establishes the principles of a responsible profession, coherent with the current problems to be faced and in respect of the values ​​of deontology that underpin care relationships. BIOETHICAL MODULE: Describe and recognize the reasons behind the birth of bioethics, the main approaches to ethics, with particular reference to the four principles of biomedical ethics for taking decisions in the conflict / ethical dilemma. To acquire the tools for the recognition of the main ethical problems within the care contexts, both in the most exposed areas (beginning of life, end of life) and in the most usual situations (bioethics of everyday life). To apply to mechanisms and cases of care practice the mechanisms that allow to guide the conduct of professionals in the face of complex bioethical issues and ethical guidelines and to discuss choices in the respect and application of the principles of Bioethics. MODULE DEONTOLOGY AND REGULATION OF PROFESSIONAL EXERCISE: Recognizing the deontological and normative references of professional nursing action. Describe the deontological principles that are at the base of professional action.
