Learning outcomes

Acquire basic knowledge on etiology, mode of transmission, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, therapy and prevention of some of the main infectious diseases, in particular those with potential risk of transmission, to the patient and / or operator, in the dentistry cabinet .

Program

The program is divided into 5 lessons of 2 academic hours each.
FIRST LESSON.
General aspects concerning the etiology, epidemiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases.
SECOND LESSON.
HIV / AIDS infection, with particular attention to the manifestations affecting the oral cavity.
THIRD LESSON.
Blood-borne viral hepatitis. Endocarditis.
FOURTH LESSON.
Post-exposure prophylaxis of parenterally transmitted infections.
FIFTH LESSON.
COVID-19: basics and infection prevention.
