Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with the most important principles of the intellectual property law and of the law governing firms in the marketplace. A specific focus will be given to the most relevant regulations for commerce, also at the European and international levels. At the end of the course the students will have acquired the essential tools of the mentioned disciplines and the ability to apply them in both domestic and cross-border entrepreneurial operations.
Program
The program intends to analyse the relevant legal institutes of intellectual property and competition law, with the aim of providing with an exhaustive framework of the norms that regulate business strategies, regarding both competition and distinctive signs.
Legal theory explanation will be followed by a practical approach to such topics, by means of case studies presentation and related discussion in terms of problem solving.
In brief, the programm will focus on the following topics:
- Trademarks and distinctive signs
- Unfair competition law
- Unfair commercial practices
In addition to the relevant norms of Italian Industrial Property Code and Civil Code, as well as EU regulations, as reference books (alternatively between them) see:
