Learning objectives

The goal of the course is to teach the main aspects of the geographical theoretical framework, from a epistemological, conceptual and methodological point of view. The course concerns the key elements of geography that are necessary to create the teaching practices. The course intends to give elements useful to plan and act efficient teaching strategies for geography in the primary and pre-primary school.

Didactic methods

Lessons in presence, with intense interactivity, group activities, seminars, possible walks/excursions on the territory. (attention: the teaching methods are subject to change due to any covid and related health provisions)

Learning assessment procedures

Written exam with mainly open questions.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation is out of thirty. In addition to the course contents, clarity of presentation, mastery of geographical terminology and spelling and syntactic correctness will also be evaluated.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

For the final assessment, the written test on the fundamentals and didactics of geography and the participation and outcome of the laboratory activities are considered.
