Learning objectives
The goal of the course is to review the linguistic theories and literary theories through a critical lens, highlighting the role of the sociolinguistic components in the construction of meanings, relating them to linguistic skills and integrating them into the processes of language development and linguistic education.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Basic knowledge of logic.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade
To successfully complete the course, students are requested to produce an assignment consisting of a project on the development of critical thinking in one or more classes of primary school.
The project must include the following points:
Introduction and motivation in which the importance of critical thinking is discussed
description of the classes
presentation and discussion of the methodologies deployed
description of the material, technological and human resources
a detailed description of the project included expected results, timetable, and activities
preparation of material to be used in the project
description of the assessment procedures
The evaluation of the project will focus on:
coherence between project and objectives
capacity to justify the project design
methodological variety
creativity
consistency with the material discussed in classes
variety of material deployed
appropriateness of the assessment procedures
The assignment must be delivered at least 14 days before the exam on Moodle. The oral exam will cover the material discussed in classes and will assess linguistic as well as conceptual competency. The final grade of the first module will result from the assessment (40%) and the oral exam (60%).
