M-FIL/03 - MORAL PHILOSOPHY
Period
Sem. 1B dal Nov 14, 2022 al Dec 23, 2022.
Learning objectives
Resting on the thin edge dividing two different styles of investigation, the workshop on ethics and psychoanalysis aims to approach ethic’s main topics from the perspective of psychoanalysis and its contribution to provide a different reading to the main issues of the philosophical tradition. In particular, the workshop will provide an insight of the philosophical meaning of Freud’s discovery of the powerlessness of the subject. What does ethics become, in such perspective? How may philosophy think (or have thought) something corresponding to that, and may be called to develop that approach? The workshop will collectively analyze some of the main texts that have pioneered these philosophical discussions, in order that students may be capable to master their arguments and create their personal approach to them in a critical and autonomous way.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No prerequisites are required.
Program
The workshop will be devoted to the question of dreams, both in philosophy and psychoanalysis. The bibliography will be indicated during the meetings.
