Learning objectives
The course provides basic theoretical and practical concepts on corporate finance. The course examines a firm's financial needs and decisions regarding investments and funding (or financial) structure. In particular, the course analyses capital budgeting techniques and provides a view on the funding alternatives that firms can use in order to satisfy their specific financial needs of both short and medium to long term. At the end of the course, students will be able to analyze, understand and evaluate independently and in a critical manner the financial implications of firm’s decisions.

There are no prerequisites, but it is advisable to resume Financial Statement Analysis

Bibliography
Didactic methods
Teaching will be developed through lectures and business case aimed at facilitating the understanding and interpretation of theoretical concepts. The course could include meetings with experts.
Learning assessment procedures
A written exam consisting made up on open-ended question and practical exercises
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation will take into account accuracy and quality of students' answers, appropriateness of their language, and their ability to adequately justify statements, analyses and judgments.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final grade is equal to the sum of the scores obtained on the open questions and exercises. To pass the exam it is necessary to achieve a grade of at least 18/30.
