The course provides knowledge and methods to describes the development, implementation, and appraisal of clinical practice guidelines. It also explores ways of increasing their use in clinical practice.

Overview of the guideline development process from question formulation all the way to recommendation development.
Methods to facilitate the introduction of guidelines in practice: dissemination and implementation
Evidence that guideline based care can change clinical practice and patient outcomes
During the course the group will be accompanied to use the guidelines for making decisions
Examination Methods
The exam consists of a written test aimed at ascertaining both the knowledge and its application. The students are presented with extracts of guidelines to be interpreted and used in a short clinical scenario
