Learning outcomes

Specific learning objectives: - Bilirubin formation, metabolism and elimination mechanisms - Causes of increased conjugated and unconjugated bilirubinemia - Classification of jaundice - Symptoms and signs of hemolytic and colostatic jaundice - Frequent causes of chronic and acute hemolysis - Etiopathogenetic mechanisms of edema - Hemato-chemical alterations of edema - Pathophysiologic mechanisms of uremic syndrome - Nephrotic syndrome - Mechanisms and possible consequences of interactions with particular reference to metabolic interactions - Clinical significance of interactions with distinction between: potential and real - Phenomenon of drug self-prescription - Adverse reactions from antituberculous drugs, anticoagulants, NSAIDs

Program

The Decision Making tutorials are aimed at all fifth year students who are divided into 12 groups. Each group discuss four clinical problems in the internal medicine area.

Examination Methods

Presentation of a previously published review or meta-analysis and critical reading/comment.
