Program
The program of Philosophy of education is strictly connected with the program of Educational research. In particular, the program of Philosophy of education presents the theoretical framework for the design and implementation of educative research in school, specifically, educative research in the fields of ethical education and emotional education.
The main topics included in the program of Educational research are the following:
- The educative research
- Research with and for children
- The instruments of the educative research: Socratic conversation, stories, games and vignettes
- Educational purposes and heuristic purposes of the activities
- Qualitative research and data analysis
- The report of an educative research
- "MelArete": an example of educative research in the field of ethical education
- "L'orto delle emozioni - The Nous project": an example of educative research in the field of emotional education
- Designing an educative research activity

Didactic methods
Lectures, Socratic conversations and reflective writing exercises. The attending students will be engaged in designing an educative research activity.
Only the theoretical lectures will be recorded.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam will be a written test with open question. The attending students will be also required to design an educative research activity.
Evaluation criteria
The exam tests the in-depth understanding of concepts and the ability to critically rework contents. The educative research activity will be evaluated with reference to the coherence between the description of the activity, the educational purposes and the heuristic purposes.
