The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Learning objectives

At the end of the course the student will be able to solve problems of various complexity concerning General Chemistry. The course also aims to provide the student with an adequate level of culture to profitably deal with subsequent courses such as Organic Chemistry (2nd year), Drug Analysis I (2nd year) and General Biochemistry (2nd year).
The student will be able to understand the basic properties of matter from an electronic, structural and chemical reactivity point of view.
The student must be able to apply this knowledge at the molecular level in the study of new drugs or health products in a defined biological system.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam will take place through a written cross test (duration: 90 minutes). There are no intermediate tests during the semester.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Overall, the set of knowledge acquired will be evaluated as well as the consequent ability of critical reasoning and understanding/use of the specialized lexicon. The student will have to solve 18 theoretical questions (1 point each) concerning the entire program. Another 4 questions (3 points each) will be stoichiometry exercises wherein the concepts learned during the course will be applied.
For each wrong answer -20% and for cancelled or not given answer 0 points.
The final grade will be expressed out of thirty.
Students who score 17 will have the right to take an oral exam in order to reach the score of 18/30.
Students who score 29/30 or more will have the right to take an oral test to evaluate the assignment of honors.
