Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning objectives
The course explains the functioning of the main instruments of public law and EU law in a comparative perspective. It provides information on the different legal traditions of the world, on their influence on constitutional structures, as well as on the regulation of economic activities through the lens of the comparative methodology. The course provides students with skills such as understanding, assessing and processing the regulatory framework in which they will operate in their professional trajectory. The comparative analysis of phenomena helps understand global trends and design better solutions for specific (legal) problems.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No specific prior knowledge required.
Program
The teaching provides the student with the necessary tools for understanding the most relevant institutions of public law in a comparative perspective through the examination of state legal systems and the European legal system.
The programme covers the following topics:
1. introduction to the legal phenomenon and fundamentals of public law;
2. method in legal comparison;
3. legal traditions and legal families;
4. sources of law;
5. constitutional cycles and constitutional dynamics;
6. foundations of European Union law (sources of law and institutions);
7. forms of state and government;
8. constitutional justice and constitutional protection.

Didactic methods
The course comprises 54 hours of classroom lectures; attendance is strongly recommended.
Incoming Erasmus students are invited to contact the professor in charge of the teaching (enrico.andreoli@univr.it) for the precise definition of the teaching methods dedicated to them.
Learning assessment procedures
The assessment of the expected learning outcomes differs for attending and non-attending students in the manner specified below; students who attend 80% of the lectures (43/54 hours) are considered to be attending.
1. For attending students: a written test with multiple-choice and open-ended questions, lasting one and a half hours, the syllabus of which is made up of the topics covered during the classroom lessons.
For attending students, an intermediate written test is to be held in the same way as the final test.
2. For non-attending students: oral test, the syllabus of which is made up of the examination bibliography indicated in the appropriate section.

3. Incoming Erasmus students are invited to contact the professor in charge of the teaching (enrico.andreoli@univr.it) for a precise definition of the examination arrangements for them (consisting of a paper discussion).
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation criteria include the ascertainment of:
1. the depth and breadth of knowledge gained;
2. the ownership of language;
3. the analytical and argumentative ability;
4. the ability to critically reflect on and link the topics covered in the teaching programme.
The evaluation of the final examination (both written and oral) is expressed in thirtieths.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final grade is made up on the basis of the verification of the criteria mentioned.
Exam language
Italiano; per gli studenti Erasmus incoming è prevista la possibilità di effettuare la prova d'esame loro dedicata (discussione di un paper) in lingua inglese o spagnola. / Italian; incoming Erasmus students will have the opportunity to take their exam (discussion of a paper) in English or Spanish.

CFU F
I CFU F sono solitamente relativi ad abilità informatiche, competenze linguistiche, stage e tirocini e ulteriori attività formative accreditate in questa tipologia dal Collegio Didattico.
Nel corso di laurea in Lingue e culture per il turismo e il commercio internazionale sono previste le seguenti tipologie:
- 3 CFU per terza lingua (livello B1)
- 3 CFU per informatica
- 6 CFU per stage obbligatorio.
Le competenze informatiche possono essere acquisite attraverso:
- il superamento della prova pratica presso le aule informatiche di Ateneo,
- la frequenza dei corsi attivati da scuole e centri accreditati dall’AICA (Associazione Italiana per l’Informatica e il Calcolo Automatico) o riconosciuti dalla Provincia e dalla Regione e superamento della relativa prova finale. Le domande per il riconoscimento delle competenze informatiche acquisite precedentemente vengono esaminate dalla Commissione per il riconoscimento delle Competenze Informatiche.
Le attività di stage sono finalizzate a far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza diretta in settori di particolare utilità per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e per l’acquisizione di abilità specifiche d’interesse professionale.

Internships and apprenticeships - Foreign Languages and Literatures
Internships and apprenticeships
A mandatory internship period (6 CFUs) within business organizations is included in the study plan for the Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce (L12).
The internship is designed to provide students with practical experience in areas relevant to their future professional careers and to help them acquire specific professional skills.
Internship activities are conducted under the direct supervision of an individual lecturer and take place at professional firms, public administration offices, and companies accredited by the University of Verona.
Credits earned through internship activities will be awarded in accordance with the detailed provisions of the current “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” (University Regulations for the Recognition of Credits Accrued in University Internships).
