The "roots" of Francophone literatures in Belgium and Africa.

The course aims to initiate students to an in-depth and critical study of some Francophone female writers “venues d’ailleurs”, who came from different European and non-European countries (Maghreb, Spain) or who were born in Francophone countries locked up in their literary traditions (Switzerland, Québec …) and intended to change them radically by means of a new and aggressive language. Moreover, the professor intends to provide students with all the theoretical and methodological tools for the literary and linguistic analysis of the proposed texts. The lessons will be held in French, in order to improve the students’ linguistic level as well.

Oral exam, in French, based on the texts analysed during the course. The program, bibliography and exams are the same for all students, including non-attendants.
