Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Know the most relevant morpho-syntactic structures of the Russian language, its lexical peculiarity, different linguistic registers, as well as specific terminology for tourism and commerce;
2. Apply the acquired knowledge to the comprehension of long and complex texts, and oral and written communication; apply the acquired knowledge to the translation of different texts;
3. Have acquired the Russian language skills correspondent to CEFR C1 level.

Program

The course consists of the following modules:

1. MORPHO-SYNTAX
1.1. Aspects: formation and use
1.2. Case: use and arguments
1.3. Negative and indefinite pronouns
1.4. The independent clause: impersonal constructions
1.5. The dependent clause: temporal, causal and final clauses; conditional clauses; direct and indirect speech

2. LEXICON AND TRANSLATION


Teaching mode: frontal lessons; e-learning; reading, translation, and analysis of different types of text; particular attention will be given to touristic and commercial texts.
Other materials will be provided during the course.

Examination Methods

ORAL EXAM

Details about the exam and evaluation criteria are provided on the Moodle page of the course (section: "Подробнее об экзамене").

PREREQUISITES: students can take the exam only if
– they have acquired the С1 language certificate;
– they have passed the exams “Русский язык 2” and “Русская культура и литература 2”.

NB: The programme is the same for attending and non-attending students
