Learning objectives
The aim of the lesson is to deepen knowledge about the role of glycoproteins of the CD1 family (MHC-class-I-like molecules) in the recognition of amphipathic lipid antigens by the immune system. In particular, we will illustrate the processes of T cell assembly, trafficking, lipid antigen binding and activation, and recent scientific insights into how lipid antigens can differentially stimulate CD1-restricted T cells in both the innate and adaptive systems.
