Learning objectives

The use of flow cytometry has seen a great application in many fields of biology, allowing the multiparametric analysis of very different cells, the determination of their relative abundances and the production of assays capable of measuring vital, genetic and phenotypic parameters. The aim of the course is focused on the presentation of the analysis of neoplastic cells (from leukemia or solid tumors) and leukocyte populations by flow cytometry and its advanced variants such as CyTOF, Imaging Cytometry or spectral flow cytometry.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Basic knowledge of cell biology and optics

Program

Starting from his own experience and integrating relevant publications on the subject, the teacher will provide an illustration of the main methods applicable in the context of the analysis of tumors and the changes they induce in the immune system, and of the possible applications related to the multiparametric profiling of cellular subpopulations.
