Obiettivi formativi:
The course aims at providing the students with a critical understanding of issues and authors which are particularly relevant to contemporary concerns with politics and society.
Prerequisiti: Basic knowledge in the History of Philosophy

Program

Hannah Arendt and Karl Marx.

Starting from Hannah Arendt's "Karl Marx and the Tradition of Western Political Thought" (1953), the course will discuss
Arendt's criticism of Marx, "labour" and "society", in order to highlight her misunderstanding of Marx and, at the same time, the reason why both Arendt and Marx are particularly relevant to contemporary debate on the crises of the "common world" and "citizenship".
