Program

• role and tasks of Hygiene in the first 10 years of life.
• role of teachers in promoting lifestyles for health promotion and disease prevention
• epidemiological models of the onset of diseases: the concept of cause and risk factor;
• primary, secondary and tertiary prevention;
• infectious diseases: bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms; general epidemiology with particular emphasis on childhood and food-borne diseases;
• prevention of infectious diseases in school age. Principles of disinfection and sterilization. Vaccinations;
• chronic diseases: the approach to epidemiological knowledge and prevention measures regarding diseases with greater social impact, whith a very early exposure to related risk factors;
• the composition of foods and the food pyramid in the first 10 years of life;
• nutrition hygiene: nutritional choices in children 0-10 years old and health effects.
• the diet as a tool for health promotion and disease prevention.

Didactic methods

The teaching is structured in theoretical lectures. The teaching material is made available to students on the e-learning web page of the course (Moodle platform). Students in isolation and / or quarantine for COVID-19 will be allowed access to the lessons via ZOOM (in synchronous mode), after sending the form to the teacher via e-mail to self-certify their positivity.

Learning assessment procedures

written exam with multiple choice tests The objective of the test is to verify the knowledge of all the topics covered. The final evaluation is expressed in 30ths.
