Learning objectives

The course aims to promote the acquisition of theoretical and methodological skills in the field of cultural geography and to present their application in the editorial field. At the end of the course, the student will have gained knowledge of the fundamental concepts of cultural geography and will be able to critically evaluate the role of geocultural factors in editorial production, circulation and reception.

Program

he course aims to make students aware of the various declinations of geography and human geography, in order to acquire and place basic knowledge of cultural geography as a language of geography and as a cognitive and interpretative path of spatial organisation.
The course will retrace the history of the discipline. Cultural processes, interdisciplinary relationships, goals and objectives will be highlighted through which humankind has organised, perceived and designed the present and the future of spaces, places and territories on different scales. Evaluation criteria

The mere mnemonic knowledge of the concepts is not sufficient for the successful outcome of the exam.
Will be verified:
ability to discursively organise knowledges;
critical reasoning skills on the study carried out;
quality of presentation;
competence in the use of specialised vocabulary, effectiveness, linearity.
Above all, the ability to apply the methodologies of territorial analysis taught in the classroom or deduced from textbooks to unstudied contexts will be verified and evaluated.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final evaluation is expressed in thirtieth.

Exam language

Italian language. In case of difficulty, foreign students can ask to take the oral exam in Spanish or French. Lingua italiana. In caso di difficoltà gli studenti stranieri possono chiedere di sostenere l'esame orale in lingua spagnola o francese.
