UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWING
- how to optimise the fitting of a hearing aid in order to achieve maximum adaptation to the subject's hearing loss
- the different prescriptive algorithms that differ according to hearing loss and dynamics
- the methods of investigating the hearing aid benefit through hearing aid audiometry, questionnaires and surveys
- the various methods with which to modify amplification parameters, microphone sampling and acoustic stimulation
KNOWING AND BEING ABLE TO APPLY
- a correct assessment of any otological problems that may interfere with the success of prosthetic therapy
- evaluative prosthetic function tests, selection tests, adjustment tests and application of hearing aids
- general rehabilitation methods and in particular hearing aids, both with air and bone conduction hearing aids
- methods for the activation, adjustment and monitoring of implantable devices
- the choice of the correct hearing aid, type of earmolds, such as material and shape, making an impression
- correct hearing-aid fitting
- tools and methodologies for verifying the quality of the prosthetic fitting
