Learning objectives

KNOWING AND BEING ABLE TO APPLY
- prosthetic evaluation function tests, selection tests, adjustment tests and fitting of hearing aids
- general rehabilitation methods and in particular hearing aids, both with air and bone conduction devices
- methods for the activation, adjustment and monitoring of implantable devices
- the choice of the correct hearing aid, type of earmolds, such as material and shape, making an ear impression
- correct audio-prosthetic fitting
- tools and methodologies for verifying the quality of the prosthetic intervention
- computer skills useful for the management of service information systems, and for one's own self-training
- bibliographical research by collecting, organising and correctly interpreting health and biomedical information from the various resources and databases available
ABILITY TO LEARN
- the principles and the technological and methodological process underlying medical devices used in the hearing field
- the notions necessary to ensure the continuous development of knowledge and skills due to the evolution and progress of hearing science

Examination Methods

Semi-structured written examination to be taken in 60 minutes and consisting of multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Subsequently, an oral examination will take place as a traditional examination

Evaluation criteria

Clear and fluent exposition of complex topics with specific and technical terminology. Good critical capacity for examples applied to technical-clinical practice and drafting of high-tech concepts based not only on lecture material but also on personal research.
